Well, about me.. Normally I could ramble on for hours about things I've achieved
in such a short space of time, however, for some reason as I sat to write this I had one thought over come me. People know
me better than I sometimes know myself, why not let some of my friends write a few short paragraphs about me. So I asked some
friends, although they were somewhat reluctant at first they have written these words about me.
Roger Anthony : I first met Scott when
I was enrolling on a training course
for would be ‘radio producers'
and as I sat filling out the forms I’d been given I noticed a young
lad sat opposite me eating a bag of Cheese N’ Onion crisps. I’d no idea who he was or why he was there. He followed the small group who had
assembled up to our training room.We had to introduce ourselves and he told everyone his name was Scott Blagden. Much of our programme of training centred around ‘group work ‘. Scott said he’d be happy to
work with me and we soon got to know each other. He clearly shared my passion for radio.
The difference was, back in the early 1980’s when I was his age
all I could do was to ‘pretend’ to be a radio DJ in my bedroom with my little record deck and box of 7”vinyls.
Scott on the other hand had already had a taste of what it’s like to broadcast for real having set up his own
internet radio station at home from
the age of eight. Our small group worked happily together
for the next ten weeks and shortly after the final session, OfCOM announced it had approved Doncaster based Sine FM’s
application for a five year FM licence. Both myself and Scott had already submitted programme proposals which were given
the go ahead and we began presenting our new weekly shows the Sine FM. Much
was made in the local press of the fact that Scott was our youngest presenter. I had to smile
as I remembered that I was around ‘thirty’ when I was asked to present my very first FM show back in 1997!!
Kate Thornton: Scott is a great poet and a great person. The way he loses himself in a poem, the way
he follows his instructions and takes a warning. He is perfect - well at least the closest to perfect you'll get!
Bethany Stevens:
From the moment I met Scott, I don’t think I've ever had a blue day in my life.
He lights up my heart, makes me laugh and is the greatest friend a girl could ask for. We have been friends for just over
two years and he is my best friend, councillor comedian and brother. Scott is the kind of person that once you meet him you
will never want to let him go. He is helpful, kind, accepting and sweet. In fact I find it hard to find a person that Scott
can say a bad word about he sees the best in everyone. I suppose it would take forever to explain every one of his good points
and I am so blessed and lucky to have him in my life.
